A new generation of journalists are in the forefront of efforts to improve local coverage of news and reduce the threat to democracy. Our goal is to obtain unprecedented resources to build on proven strategies, while removing long-standing inequities in journalistic coverage and practice.

Recent graduates and students inaugurated Austin Harvest, the Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent site this week, providing artistic and social interaction to an area once known for gun violence. WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak to the founders of the market who outlined their mission as not just offering food, but also creating an atmosphere that is more welcoming one of their goals.
