A bedside crib, sometimes referred to as a baby bassinet, is placed near your bed so you can be able to attend to your child during feedings at night and nappy-changings, without having to leave bed. These cribs are ideal for fostering independence for your child as they become more comfortable in their own space to sleep.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide crib is a crib that can be placed at the bedside, allowing parents to sleep with their infant while ensuring they are resting safely. Its smooth gliding motion is able to lull your baby back to sleep, and its ingenuous features ensure that you can monitor your baby without leaving your own bed.
The cot's sliding side panel can be raised and lowered with the push of the button, making it a breeze to reach inside and soothe a crying infant at night. It also has 11 height adjustments that let it fit the mattress of almost any size bed and it includes adjustable folding feet to ensure it is at the right height.
The cot is padded, features mesh sides for better the airflow, and the mattress is made from high-density foam to provide extra protection. It's also able to be cleaned to keep it clean. Additionally, it is fitted with a sheet that is suitable for use with the cot.
Contrary to other cribs that are bedside like the Roomie Glide is suitable for all beds, including divans due to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib if it is not attached to your bed and it's full of amazing features designed with parent-baby bonding in mind.
It is important to remember that this crib won't last as long as when your baby turns six months old. You'll need to buy a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide was a very good purchase and she was particularly impressed by its elegant design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a fair price for a cot. She was pleased with the way it was positioned in her bedroom and believed its gray color would be appropriate for most modern homes. She did mention that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it can create a bad sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to give you the best sleep possible. It features an adjustable side rail that can be easily lowered to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or forcing them out of bed. This is ideal for mothers who breastfeed! It's also light and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.
We love that it's constructed of soft fabrics with breathable mesh sides that promote airflow and comfort. It comes in charcoal or oak with various melange fabrics that will blend with most decor styles. Anna found it to be solid and secure when it was attached to her bed, with the legs securely clicking into the frame and the zips securely secured to ensure safety for babies. It took Anna approximately 10 minutes to put together and did not require any tools. There are clear instructions as well as a video, and a customer support number if you experience any issues.
The CoZee crib is equipped with all the features you'd expect from a crib to your bedside, including the ability to attach it to your bed using a stay-in place connection system. It also has six height settings. Additionally it has an inclined feature that can be used to aid infants suffering from reflux or congestion. It is also machine-washable - a must for all the spills, vomit, and snot that can be found in a newborn baby bedside cot!
If you want to keep your baby close to you during the first six months of their life when they're able to go to sleep on their own, the CoZee is a great option as it can also be used as a separate cot, changing table and toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could transform into an bed. While it won't be able to magically bring your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock them and send them off.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's most expensive options, however it comes with a lot of features. It's designed to function as a side sleeper or standalone crib and is suitable for babies up to six months. It is easy to open and close the side panel using the new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and retractable feet for a secure fit under any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides that can be lowered and raised by pressing one button. This was especially helpful at night, as they could reach inside and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel by it's own, however this is not advised, as it increases the risk that your child will get out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will remain in place if it's properly attached to the parent's mattress. This is an excellent feature to have in place for peace of mind, particularly if you're breastfeeding and require frequent nighttime feedings.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases as well as beds with drawers. It also comes with a tilting function for babies with reflux and a rocking feature to bring them back to sleep after eating. It's also very large and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's fairly mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's small enough to fit into its travel cot bedside crib bag when not in use, which is a bonus if you need to transport it. The only issue our testers found was that the side panel didn't move as much as some of the other models, which made it a little harder to see your baby from your own bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside cot mattress crib is a great option for a crib that can grow with your child. It's a co-sleeping crib that attaches securely to your bed and can be transformed into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and enhancing the bond you have with your baby's new.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other models. The dual-view mesh side panels and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline option helps to ease colic and reflux while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or comfort your baby at night.
The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you require to start. It took us an hour to put together and was relatively easy to put together. The only issue with the instructions was that some pictures did not have captions. This made it difficult for us to follow. However, overall it was a straightforward procedure and the quality of the materials employed was of a high standard.
In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent choice for breastfeeding mums and women who have had a C-section since it allows them to easily reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to climb out of their bed. It's great for parents who don't want to deal with the stress of putting their child in a traditional cot or even getting them out of it.
The gliding motion was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep following feedings at midday or night. The drop-down side is also easily accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night, which was a real selling point for our exhausted test mothers. The Joie Roomie Glide is a elegant and practical crib that doesn't rock nor does it come with extra features like an audio system.
