If you've ever thought of get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-highest rated robot vacuum models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its greatest advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't want. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.
Its design is superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base automatic floor cleaners Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a tiny bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
Although it's not as efficient as the Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that use robotic floor Vacuums cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best home vacuum cleaner option is probably hybrid. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.
Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuums can really fail. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few misses in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones, alter your home map, or re-label rooms.
If you select the Q5+ it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's in place the process of emptying the bin is easy. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the best budget robot vacuum in the industry however, it's costly.
Its base station looks good and is hidden when it's not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.
And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the only robovac I've tested that does well at picking up the dust from floors with no. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It can't navigate stairs as well as some competitors, for instance and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive and has more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuum hoover vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping capabilities at a reasonable price. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock close to a power outlet and enough space for it to move but.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is more modest than other models, and features sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The primary aspect that sets the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it began.
The elegant G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life while offering better performance on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which doesn't require as much emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, however is less expensive and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be empty as often and it's less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
